Description

Silver birch trees belong to the betula family. A species known for  being fast growing with light coloured, peeling bark and  a light canopy. A tree native to the UK with its roots as far back as 11,000 years ago.

  • Produces Lime green catkins (seedpods) in summer and turn to a dark brown in autumn.

  • Fast growing tree. Reaching up to 20 meters in its maturity.

 

TREE SIZE INFO:

Maidens (1 Year Old) : Grown up to 90cm tall. The main stem of the plant is growing and the plant will look to develop its side branches in the spring and summer months to give you the tree shape you expect to see.

Half Standards (2 Years Old): Grow up to 150cm tall. The main stem will still have a well developed trunk and side branches. It will have begun to produces its first main branches clearly and have the tree shape you would expect.

Specimen trees (3+ Years Old): Our specimen trees will have been in our fields growing for a minimum of 3 years they will have developed the tree shape you would expect. These are perfect for adding instant impact to gardens. Specimen tree vary in sizes between 300 t0 600cm tall. The stems or trunk will vary of to 20 to 30 cm in girth.
